Brest-la-Rouge

The city of Brest-la-Rouge has an anarchist spirit, but currently it is ruled by a city council who sold out to real estate. And even before then, it has been a military town for centuries.

When an economic crisis and oil supply shock rocks the world, Brest-la-rouge is unprepared, and starts losing even more terrain and spaces of freedom to corporations. In this climate of dwindling public space, a ragtag group of unemployed workers start squatting in an abandoned ship repair hangar, and a plan starts forming: a shipbuilding cooperative, owned by the workers.
But it’s not just about jobs, the purpose of making ships is to defeat the shadow fleet (a large number of polluting ships who simply hack their pollution certificates and defies the IMO regulations).
